The Institute for the Management of Refugee Flows and Crises of the International Hellenic University (IHU) organizes an International Conference on Humanitarian Crisis Management (KRISIS 2023) in Thessaloniki, Greece on October 14-15, 2023. The conference aims to bring together academics, professionals and practitioners working on humanitarian crisis management to present research, development, and field experience in all areas of interest. 

Topics include but are not limited to:

∘ Humanitarian Logistics and Supply Chain Management 

∘ Humanitarian Technologies 

∘ Tools and Methodologies for Humanitarian Crisis Management Based on Social Sciences 

∘ Sphere Standards and Refugee Site Planning and Management 

∘ Migration Flows: Trends, Challenges and Lessons Learned 

⋅∘ Environmental and Financial Impacts of Humanitarian Crises 

∘ Sustainability of Humanitarian Operations

∘ Case Studies and Field Experience 

  

The conference will include regular sessions, round tables and special sessions. The conference is going to be held in English. 

A special session will include research work of students of the interinstitutional M.Sc. in Humanitarian Logistics and Crisis Management.

Notification of acceptance:15 September 2023 

Final paper submission:22 September 2023 

Registration deadline:14 October 2023 

 

Submission Guidelines

All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome: 

● Scientific papers (4-6 pages) 

● Technical reports (up to 2 pages) 

Papers should be submitted electronically to EasyChair via https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=krisis2023. 

The accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings (indexed in Google Scholar).
