Welcome to the SKAE’s blog
The blog of the SKAE aspires to be the model of an electronic scientific journal on Social and Cultural Anthropology, but also more generally on social thought and research in Greece.
The Association of Social Anthropologists Greece (ΣΚΑΕ) is a professional and scientific union founded in July 2020, following three decades of academic presence of Social Anthropology in Greece in the form of fully functioning university departments. ASAG was founded at a time where as social anthropologists we continue to experience conditions of increased precarity, part-time employment and unemployment.
The aim of ASAG is threefold including the dissemination and promotion of the discipline of Social Anthropology, the claim for the professional rights of social anthropologists, and the participation and intervention in the public sphere.
ASAG is committed to the respect of difference, to the active engagement with social problems and to the defense of democratic freedoms. It aspires to become a meeting point for social anthropologists active in Greece and beyond, to express themselves, cooperate and enact and scientific character of the association.
The blog of the SKAE aspires to be the model of an electronic scientific journal on Social and Cultural Anthropology, but also more generally on social thought and research in Greece.
